Scenario
Alex is the owner of a local mobile dog grooming business. He recently expanded operations by hiring his first employee, Stacey, and purchasing a second dog grooming van. To promote the growing business, Stacey suggests creating and distributing flyers around the city.
Alex uses his financial institution's virtual card solution to give Stacey the autonomy to purchase supplies while allowing him to oversee and control these expenses.
Request a virtual card
Alex logs in to his financial institution's mobile app and requests a Visa virtual business card for Stacey. He sets card controls and limits its usage to merchants within the office supplies category.
Receive virtual card details
After the request has been approved, Stacey can view her virtual card details and usage details by logging on to her business banking app.
Initiate purchase
Stacey adds a printer and paper to her cart on the office supplies store website. At checkout, she copies and pastes in the Visa virtual business card credentials from her business banking app.
Complete purchase
Stacey successfully completes the purchase using her virtual card details. Alex receives a notification about the purchase. Because her card was set for multi-use, Stacey can make additional approved office supplies purchases with the remaining balance before the card expires.
Categorize transaction
After completing her purchases, she attaches the receipt to each corresponding transaction and categorizes them under the office supplies category. Alex reviews these details when checking transactions of the day.
